Several of Forty Carrots’ Mental Health Therapists recently received training in AFFIRM CBT through an initiative funded by Equality Florida. The 4-day training was offered to a number of mental health agencies and providers in Sarasota and Manatee County with the intention of improving access to evidenced-based mental health services to LGBTQ+ youth in the community. Forty Carrots is working to strengthen the partnership with ALSO Youth as they move into their new location in Sarasota County and grow their therapy referral program and their list of qualified providers. As a result of the AFFIRM CBT training, three additional Forty Carrots Mental Health Therapists have been added to ALSO Youth’s list of approved mental health providers in a collaborated effort to help support LGBTQ+ youth in the community.
