IN JAIL
These young children are deprived of the parental bonds that are so crucial to a child’s development and will encounter a lifetime of the adverse effects of trauma.
Studies show that the children of incarcerated parents face a multitude of life challenges.

BREAKING THE CYCLE
Forty Carrots’ Circle of Security® Parenting™ 8 week program, led by parenting educators, gives incarcerated parents the tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, abuse and addiction. Working on their relationships while in prison helps keep families connected and improves a parent’s ability to respond to their child’s needs, while gaining confidence in their role as a parent.
I truly think the programs we’re doing in the jail and the social work we’re engaged in is going to have a bigger impact on quality of life in Sarasota County than even the traditional law enforcement patrol.
