Good Beginnings That Last A Lifetime

Forty Carrots Puts Children and Families First During COVID-19

Forty Carrots Family Center has implemented unique strategies for giving children and parents the tools and support they need to navigate these challenging times.  Our agency moved quickly to transition all services to tech-based communication platforms.  Our therapists, educators, and staff continue to put children and families first in the midst of this global pandemic.

“First and foremost, we remain committed to the health and safety of our families, donors, staff, and volunteers,” said CEO Michelle Kapreilian. “We also understand that while our methods may change during this time, the need for our services has never been greater. Mental health concerns are on the rise, as are domestic violence and substance abuse that directly impacts the risk of child abuse. We remain focused on doing our part to prevent abuse and neglect from happening to our community’s children.”

Among the many services being offered by Forty Carrots during this time:

  • Mental Health and therapy sessions continue, using telephone and video-conferencing platforms.
  • Individual Parenting Consultations are available to assist parents who suddenly have children home 24/7.
  • Parenting Education groups for parents of newborns and toddlers are available in a variety of in-person and virtual platforms.
  • Preschool is open, implementing all appropriate safety protocols.

As Forty Carrots’ formal partners begin to open for in-person operations we are working closely with them to provide services in whatever way we can to benefit our clients. Please check program web pages for details.

Our administrative team is still primarily working remotely, and are still available for you to answer any questions. Please check our STAFF PAGE for emails, and we are checking voicemail daily.

Forty Carrots will continue monitoring the latest COVID-19 information and best practices as advised by the CDC, the Sarasota County Health Department, the Office of Early Learning, and the Florida Department of Health. Further guidance regarding this pandemic is very fluid and we will continue to share any new information with all.

Please remember that social distancing means no playdates or gatherings. We must all work together to get through these difficult times. Forty Carrots will be communicating with families directly as we go along. Meanwhile, enjoy long outdoor walks, family meals, and reading good books.

Take good care and keep in touch if you have any questions.
