Laura Josephson, MA Parenting Education Director
Laura Josephson leads the Parenting Education program at Forty Carrots Family Center—one of Sarasota’s most trusted educational non-profits—where she oversees community-based classes across Sarasota and Manatee counties. She holds an MA in Early Childhood and Childhood Education from Manhattanville College and a BA in Fine Art and Education from the University at Albany, blending creative insight with developmentally appropriate teaching strategies.
Before joining Forty Carrots in 2013, Laura spent eight years in the classroom—teaching both preschool and middle school—and honed her communication skills in corporate marketing and advertising. Inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education in 2010, she brings a scholar’s rigor to every workshop and group she leads. As Parenting Program Administrator, she co-facilitated Partners In Play® sessions at Gocio Elementary, Our Mothers House, SOAR in 4, and local libraries, building strong partnerships that extend FCFC’s reach.
Committed to continuous learning, Laura earned her Graduate Certificate in Infant-Family Mental Health from USF in 2017, completed Level One and Two Professional Certifications in Trauma and Resilience from FSU, and holds a Professional Workplace Certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from USF. A registered Circle of Security® Parenting provider with a Florida Child Care and Education Program Director credential, she ensures that every parent and caregiver receives compassionate, research-based support tailored to their family’s needs.
